Magenta Living makes significant strides towards gender pay equality

At Magenta Living, we're committed to creating a workplace where everyone is treated fairly and equally, regardless of gender, and ensuring that all our employees have equal opportunities for growth and support. We are delighted to share that our recent gender pay gap report for 2023 reflects a significant milestone in our journey towards gender equality.

We're very close to achieving gender pay equality, the mean hourly pay gap has shifted from positive to negative, with women now earning marginally more than men on average within our organisation.

While we celebrate this progress, we acknowledge that there is still work to be done. It's a step in the right direction, but we're not stopping there. Our ultimate goal is to reach a zero pay gap, and we are committed to continuing our efforts to bridge any remaining disparities, and we feel it's something within our reach

One of our key initiatives involves prioritising the development of internal leadership pathways to address imbalances in the upper quartile, where we observe a disparity in female-to-male percentages despite a higher representation of females in the upper middle quartile. By implementing tailored leadership programs and providing mentorship opportunities, we are working to ensure that all employees have equal opportunities for career advancement and professional growth.

Additionally, we are committed to forging partnerships with local colleges in Wirral to cultivate a diverse pipeline of apprentices, particularly in trades where women are traditionally underrepresented. Through apprenticeship campaigns and targeted outreach efforts, we aim to broaden the network of women in trades and create more opportunities for female empowerment within our workforce.

Furthermore, we are dedicated to implementing modern approaches that accommodate colleagues through various life events, such as parenthood, menopause, caring responsibilities, and flexible retirement. By reviewing and implementing further mechanisms, we strive to remain modern, relevant, and responsive to the evolving needs of our organisation and its people.

We are proud of the strides we have made so far, and we look forward to sharing more of our progress with you. Our commitment to equality and inclusivity remains strong, driven by our purpose of empowering people and our core value of doing the right thing. We are dedicated to creating a workplace where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
