Closure Order for Birkenhead Home

Magenta Living, working in partnership with Merseyside Police, has secured a three month Closure Order at a property in Hillburn Drive, North Bikenhead.

The Closure Order was granted after the social landlord received complaints about anti social behaviour, drug dealing and drug use, loud parties, violence, and the tenant being involved in the theft of scrambler bikes and their illegal use in Hillburn Drive, both during the day and at night.  This included riding without a helmet, riding without insurance or an MOT and illegal riding of stolen scrambler bikes on the pavement, while young children we out playing.

The Closure Order means that, for the next three months, no one other than the tenant, the tenant’s mother and staff from Magenta Living can enter the property.  Anyone going into the property other than those listed face immediate arrest.

If there are further complaints from the community, Magenta Living will apply for mandatory possession of the property.

Clare Moore, Neighbourhood Housing Manager, said:  “This tenant’s behaviour has been completely unacceptable, and has blighted the local community.  Magenta Living works in partnership with Merseyside Police to provide support to our communities, and this is a great result which should bring some peace to the area.  However, if the tenant’s behaviour does not improve, we will have no choice but to seek an eviction.”
