Firth Close, Halton Canal Development Site, Runcorn Update
Magenta Living and Halton Borough Council are working together to resolve an excessive noise issue affecting newly built homes at Firth Close in Halton. Independent assessments have confirmed that current noise levels generated near the site, are above what is acceptable for residential occupation. Until this is resolved, we are unable to make the homes available to let.
Both organisations have followed the appropriate planning processes throughout development, and further technical work is now underway to identify the most effective route to a long‑term solution. Our shared priority is to make sure these high‑quality homes can be occupied as soon as it is safe and appropriate to do so.
We recognise the need of new affordable homes in Halton and understand the frustration caused by this delay. However, resident safety and wellbeing must always come first. We will continue to work closely and constructively together, and we will update local people and stakeholders as progress is made.
