Procurement Strategy
Every year, Magenta spends around £60 million on goods, services and works so we have a legal and moral duty to make sure it is spent wisely. Value for money is key to us, where we aim to make the very best use of our resources.
To Magenta, value for money means:
Supporting affordable homes.
Helping customers stay well.
Investing in our communities.
Everything we buy must meet the needs of our customers, our partners and the communities we work in. When we award a contract, we expect the best possible value and do this in several ways:
Legislation: All contracts follow the Procurement Act 2023.
Competitive Tendering: We run fair tender processes to find the best value.
Clear Specifications: We write clear, focused instructions so suppliers know exactly what is needed.
Use of Specialists: Experts help us write and check specifications, protecting Magenta from risk.
Planning Ahead: We plan our buying early so we go to market at the right time.
Strong Bid Evaluation: We review all tenders carefully, balancing cost and quality to get the best value.
KPIs: We use clear performance measures so suppliers deliver what we need.
Framework Agreements: We use trusted national frameworks when helpful, after checking they offer good value.
Contract Management: All contracts are monitored so we can make sure suppliers perform well throughout.
Social Value
Social value is a big part of who we are at Magenta. We believe in building strong communities and giving families the chance to thrive by “Doing the Right Thing”.
As we move towards 2030, we will keep placing social value at the centre of our contracts. We work with suppliers who share our vision and who can bring extra benefits to our customers and neighbourhoods, not just financial savings.
How to Submit Your Invoice to Magenta
Magenta uses a ‘No PO, No Pay’ policy. This means:
All invoices must have a valid Purchase Order number.
If an invoice does not include a PO number, it will be rejected and unpaid.
We aim to pay invoices in line with the contract terms. Your Magenta contact can explain more about this.
