Woodchurch, Seacombe and Central Birkenhead are home to many of our customers, with each community having its own strengths and opportunities. Through our Place Shaping plans, we have identified clear priorities for these areas and by working with partners we want to make visible progress and deliver practical improvements that customers can see and feel. At Magenta, we’re about more than providing homes, we’re about creating places where customers feel proud to live and where they can influence and shape their communities.

Our Place Shaping plans aren’t starting from scratch. Building on existing investment plans, local insight and partnerships, we’re already investing in customers’ homes and responding positively to the needs of each area as part of our wider plans to invest £40 million in 2026/27 in existing homes.

Woodchurch will see us invest around £3 million in nearly 2,000 homes over the next two years, keeping these homes safe, energy efficient and fit for the future. Alongside this, we’re exploring how we can improve local amenities in the area. We’ll soon be consulting with customers and the local community on how we can create much needed new homes and facilities in the area.

In Seacombe we’re looking at a range of investment and development opportunities to benefit the community. This includes creating nearly 100 new homes in the heart of Seacombe. We're also continuing to work closely with Wirral Council to look at exciting development opportunities in Central Birkenhead, which supports our strategic target of delivering 1,300 new homes by 2030

Libby Eastley, Growth and Development Director at Magenta Living said:

“Magenta has always been proud to work in and with the communities we serve. Place Shaping gives us a clearer way to bring that work together, share what we are doing and build on the investment, local knowledge and partnerships already in place. Pride in Place has helped create the right focus and momentum, and we want to use this to enhance the work already happening so we can shape safer, stronger, healthier and more connected communities with customers and partners.”

As a large local employer, we also know that some of our greatest insight comes from our colleagues, many of whom live in or have strong connections to the communities we serve. That’s why we’re recruiting three ‘Place Shaping Leads’ from within Magenta to help bring local knowledge, pride and passion into our Place Shaping plans. By working with colleagues who understand these neighbourhoods first-hand, we can build stronger connections, listen more closely and shape great communities in partnership with the people who know them best.
