We’re currently reviewing our Responsible Pet Policy, and we’re inviting customers to have their say as part of this consultation.
Your feedback will help us shape the policy and ensure it reflects the needs of our customers and communities before it is finalised.
This policy sets out our approach to responsible pet ownership across Magenta Living homes. We recognise that pets can have a positive impact on wellbeing, and we support customers who wish to keep pets -provided they are well cared for and do not negatively impact neighbours.
Because this policy affects how pets are kept in our homes and communities, it’s important that it is clear, fair and easy to understand.
Why we’re asking for your feedback
This is an existing policy that we’re reviewing to make sure it remains relevant, consistent and aligned with current guidance.
While owning a pet can bring many benefits, irresponsible ownership can cause nuisance and affect others. This policy helps us strike the right balance between supporting pet ownership and maintaining safe, respectful neighbourhoods.
The policy sets out:
How customers can request permission to keep a pet
What responsible pet ownership looks like
How we manage situations where pets may cause nuisance or disruption
How we make fair and consistent decisions
For the purpose of this policy, a pet is defined as any domesticated or tamed animal kept as a companion and cared for responsibly.
Where the policy applies
The policy applies to social and affordable homes owned and managed by Magenta Living.
It does not apply to leaseholders or shared owners.
