Residents in a central Birkenhead neighbourhood are feeling safer in their homes after Magenta Living and partner agencies successfully secured the eviction of a tenant following serious anti-social and criminal behaviour.

The action follows a period of significant disruption within the local community, during which a Magenta Living property became linked to the supply and distribution of Class A drugs.

Evidence gathered by Magenta Living and partner agencies showed that multiple drug dealers were using the address, causing concern among neighbouring residents and impacting the wider community. The situation escalated further when threats of violence, including threats involving firearms, were made towards local residents and a Magenta Living customer.

Following legal proceedings, an eviction order was secured and carried out on 30th July 2026.

Restoring safety and reassurance

The eviction marks an important step in restoring safety and reassurance for residents living nearby.

By taking decisive action, Magenta Living has brought an end to the drug-related activity and associated anti-social behaviour linked to the property, helping residents feel safer and more secure in their homes.

The case demonstrates Magenta Living's commitment to tackling serious criminality and protecting customers from behaviour that threatens the wellbeing of individuals and the wider community.

Everyone has the right to live peacefully and safely in their home, free from fear, intimidation and criminal activity. When serious concerns affect our communities, we will work with partners to take appropriate action and support those impacted.

Paul Robinson, Community Safety Manager at Magenta Living, said:

"The safety of our customers and communities is our priority. This case demonstrates our commitment to taking decisive action where serious anti-social behaviour and criminal activity are having a significant impact on residents. By working closely with our partners, we were able to secure a positive outcome for the local community and help restore residents' confidence and peace of mind."

Working together to tackle anti-social behaviour

The successful outcome was achieved through close partnership working between Magenta Living teams and a range of external agencies.

The case involved colleagues from our Community Safety Team, Neighbourhood Management Team and Community Response Team, working alongside Merseyside Police, legal representatives and specialist drug and alcohol support services.

Effective information sharing and evidence gathering, supported by ongoing communication and reassurance for local residents, helped ensure a coordinated response throughout the case.

By working together, all available enforcement and safeguarding options were explored, resulting in a positive outcome for the community.

Supporting safer communities

This case sends a clear message that serious anti-social behaviour, criminal activity, violence and intimidation will not be tolerated in Magenta Living communities.

We remain committed to working with customers, partners and local agencies to tackle anti-social behaviour, support those affected by it, and create neighbourhoods where people feel safe, respected and proud to live.
