We’ve updated our strategic plan to make sure it reflects the world around us today and the future we’re building together.

This refreshed plan keeps us firmly on track for our Road to 2030, while strengthening our commitments in the areas customers and partners tell us matter most: providing more homes, investing in existing homes, and reducing our impact on the environment.

“The changes in this refreshed strategy are shaped by clear customer insight and honest conversations about what’s working well and where we can do better. The Board has looked closely at this update and it’s reassuring to see a clear direction that reflects what customers are telling us and the challenges our communities face. I’m confident it gives Magenta Living a strong, evidence‑based roadmap to 2030.”
Ged Lucas, Chair of the Board

“Over the past few years, we’ve made real and meaningful progress, modernising how we work, strengthening our services and improving the experience we offer customers. This refreshed plan reflects the world we’re operating in today and sets out how we’ll keep delivering for our customers. It’s our roadmap to 2030 and a strong foundation for the years ahead.”
Andy Lomas, Chief Executive Officer

Why we’ve updated our plan

Since launching our strategic plan in 2024, a lot has changed. Our customers’ needs are evolving, our communities continue to feel the pressure of rising living costs, regulation around health and safety has strengthened, and the shortage of affordable homes across Wirral and the wider region remains a serious challenge.

We’ve come a long way on our original plan so we’ve updated our strategy to reflect:

  • the progress we’ve already made

  • what our customers are telling us matters most

  • the ambitions we are setting for 2030

  • We've also made the plan clearer and easier for everyone to understand what we’re here to do and how we’ll get there.

What's changed?

We have 10 targets we’re committed to achieving by 2030. Some targets have stayed the same, while others have changed to reflect what we’ve learned, the progress we’ve already made and the challenges our communities face. Here’s what’s changed and why.

Delivering more new homes - We’re increasing our commitment from 1,000 to 1,300 new homes by 2030. This reflects growing local housing need and our determination to help more people find a safe, affordable place to call home.

Customer satisfaction - We’ve updated our satisfaction target to 85%. This aligns with top performers across the housing sector, while keeping our focus firmly on delivering the best service we can for our customers.

Using our money wisely - We’re setting a 20% operating margin target for 2030. This gives a clearer picture of how efficiently Magenta Living runs its services and helps us stay financially strong for the future.

Reducing our impact on the environment - We’re committing to cutting carbon emissions by 18,000 tonnes by 2030. That’s roughly the equivalent of the energy used by 16,000 homes each year. Using this clearer measure helps us track progress more accurately and reduce our impact on the environment.

Supporting our communities - We’ve already exceeded our original £30 million social value target. Because of this progress, we’re raising our ambition to £60 million, reinforcing our commitment to supporting the communities we serve.
