Following a review of our garage rents and financial processes using HMRC (His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs) guidance, this has resulted in a change to our VAT charging process.
For prospective customers applying via the website, they may be subject to VAT depending on the distance of the garage they are offered from their home address. The VAT status will be confirmed in the offer letter.
- Garages less than 200 yards away from the home address will not be subject to VAT. The current cost per week is £11.10. The VAT status will be confirmed in the offer letter.
- Any garage further than 200 yards away, will have VAT added to the garage rent at the 20% standard rate. The current cost per week is £13.32.
- HMRC guidance provides clear information that any home-owner (non-Magenta Living customer) who rents a garage from us, this service is subject to VAT being added to the rent amount that you pay for your garage. The current cost per week is £13.32
