We will help you apply for a home and treat your application fairly. We will tell you what information and documents we need, explain every decision we make. When you apply for a home we will contact you no longer than 5 working days after the shortlist closes; the closing date is shown on the advert. If your application is successful and you are offered a house; we will give you a minimum of 7 days notice before sign to take the keys. You will be asked to pay a minimum of one week's rent when you sign up for your home.
What you can expect from your new home
We will give you a home that is clean, safe and ready to live in. All safety checks and essential repairs should be completed before you move in.
If you tell us there is a problem with the condition of your new home, we will respond within 24 hours with an appointment date to come and fix the issue.
We will offer you a viewing and explain what you need to know about your new home. We will make sure the home meets our lettable standard, which means it is safe, clean and ready to live in. We will give safety certificates, explain what they mean and provide any other information at sign-up that will ensure you understand how to manage your tenancy.
As soon as the repairs team are finished preparing your home we will complete your sign-up and give you the keys within 3 working days.
We will help you understand your tenancy after you move in by explaining your rent, ways to pay and any financial support you may be able to get. We will contact you within 5 working days after your tenancy starts and answer your questions in clear language.
