Celebrating Employability Day with Mayoral Visit to Bidston Rise JobsPlus Hub

Magenta Living proudly marked Employability Day 2025 with a special celebration at its JobsPlus community hub in Bidston Rise, welcoming the Mayor of Wirral for a tour and a chance to meet local residents who have benefitted from the programme.

JobsPlus, a national scheme funded by Youth Futures Foundation and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and managed by the Learning and Work Institute, is designed to bring employment services directly into communities. Magenta Living is one of only ten organisations in the UK selected to deliver this innovative, community-led initiative.

The Mayor's visit highlighted the impact of JobsPlus in Bidston Rise, where residents are receiving tailored support to find work, improve their skills, and access financial incentives such as an into work bonus of up to £400. The programme also offers wellbeing advice, interview coaching, and help with managing health conditions, childcare, and travel responsibilities to help people move closer towards sustainable employment.

During the visit, the Mayor met with people who are enrolled on the project, Magenta colleagues, and community leaders to hear firsthand how JobsPlus is transforming lives. The event also featured success stories from customers who have secured better job opportunities thanks to the programme.

Rachel Bennett, Communities Director at Magenta Living, said:

JobsPlus is about more than just finding work - it's about empowering people, building confidence, and creating lasting change in our communities. We're thrilled to celebrate Employability Day by showcasing the incredible progress being made right here in Bidston Rise.

Sally Ross, JobsPlus Manager at Magenta Living, added:

Being embedded in the heart of the community allows us to connect with people on a personal level. We're seeing real momentum, and today's celebration is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved.

Employability Day 2025 serves as a national reminder of the importance of inclusive employment support. Magenta Living's commitment to helping customers achieve their potential continues to drive positive outcomes across the Wirral.
