Magenta in Bloom winners announced...

Over the summer, Magenta Living asked customers and other residents living in their neighbourhoods to send in pictures of their gardens to be part of their first virtual garden competition.

From gardens with flower beds or a collection of hanging baskets and pots to communal gardens, budding gardeners put their skills to the test in the two competition categories:

  • Front gardens
  • Communal gardens


Prizes were presented to the winners recently in a ceremony at Tomorrow’s Women Wirral.  They were:

Front gardens: Parkside Close, Bebington

Communal gardens: Liscard House, Wallasey

 

Garden Competition

They each received a B&Q voucher worth £150.

Andy Lomas, Executive Director of Customers and Communities presented the award for the overall winner and said:

“I’m delighted to be presenting the Magenta in Bloom awards this year. This is a great way for our customers to show off their amazing gardening skills and bring communities together. Everyone who entered has made so much effort and I would like to again congratulate all the winners, runners up and those who took part. 

 “My thanks also go to Magenta Communities Committee for kindly judging our competition.”

A special community award was also presented to Prenton Tenants and Residents Association in recognition of the hard work they put in each year to bring colour to their whole estate through the Prenton in Bloom project.

There were two runners-up were as follows and they each received a B&Q voucher worth £50.

Front gardens: Home Farm Road, Woodchurch and Lowry Bank, Wallasey

Communal gardens: St Ives Court, Birkenhead and Leeswood Road, Woodchurch
