Magenta Living signs up to the LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge Scheme
Magenta Living is proud to announce that we are now signed up to the LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge Scheme, developed by HouseProud and delivered in partnership with Stonewall Housing.
The LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge is a sector wide scheme that supports social housing providers to demonstrate their commitment to equality, inclusion and better outcomes for LGBTQ+ residents. It provides a clear framework to help landlords listen to residents, review services and take meaningful action to create safer, more inclusive homes.
The Pledge was developed in response to 'No Place Like Home?', the largest research project exploring LGBTQ+ people's experiences of social housing. The findings highlighted that many LGBTQ+ residents continue to face discrimination, feel unsafe in their neighbourhoods, or feel unable to be themselves in their own home.
By signing up to the LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge Scheme, Magenta Living is committing to working alongside residents and colleagues to improve how we engage, support and deliver services for LGBTQ+ people.
