Magenta Living Wins Outstanding Resident Engagement Award
We're proud to share that Magenta Living has won the Outstanding Resident Engagement Award at the AICO Community Awards.
The award recognises the outstanding work of our Magenta Customers and Communities Committee (MCCC), celebrating the strength, diversity and commitment of its members, who play a vital role in representing the customer voice at a strategic level across the organisation.
AICO is an industry leader in smoke detection equipment, and its Community Awards shine a spotlight on exceptional achievements across the housing and community sector. This year's awards were highly competitive, with more than 50 submissions in this category alone, highlighting the quality and impact of the winning work.
The judging panel were particularly impressed by the meaningful ways customers are involved in decision making at Magenta Living. This included customer representation in the recruitment of senior colleagues, such as the recent recruitment of the new Magenta CEO Andy Lomas, as well as the high quality of insight, challenge and contribution provided by Committee members.
The diversity of experience within the MCCC was also highlighted as a major strength. The panel noted that having six women members who balance committee involvement alongside full time employment is unusual for this type of engagement and recognised this as a significant asset to Magenta Living.
MCCC members Millie Starkey and Toyah Cutler, attended the awards ceremony alongside Jamie Martin, our Social Impact Lead, where they proudly collected the award on behalf of MCCC
Jamie Marten said:
This award is a fantastic recognition of the time, commitment and passion shown by our Customers and Communities Committee. Their involvement genuinely shapes the decisions we make as an organisation, and it's great to see their contribution recognised at a national level.
The significance of what this achievement means to us at Magenta was summed up by Chair of MCCC and Board Member Sean Yewdale, who is also a current Magenta resident:
I'm proud to be part of Magenta's Customers and Communities Committee, which makes sure customer voices are heard and understood. This recognition shows Magenta Living genuinely values what customers bring and takes listening seriously.
