Opportunity: Independent Chair, Pride in Place Neighbourhood Boards
Do you live in Seacombe, Woodchurch or Central Birkenhead?
Magenta Living has been made aware that a new opportunity has opened for local people to serve as the Independent Chair on Wirral's three separatre Pride in Place Neighbourhood Boards.
The Government's Pride in Place Programme is supporting community-led change across these three neighbourhoods. Each separate Board will be led by an Independent Chair, someone rooted in the local area, able to bring people together, and committed to shaping a shared vision for their neighbourhood.
About the Role
This voluntary position is ideal for anyone who is passionate about their community and interested in helping to lead positive, collaborative change. You do not need previous experience in similar roles. What matters most is:

- A commitment to ensuring all voices are heard
- The ability to navigate different opinions calmly and constructively
Chairs act as convenors and facilitators, helping residents and community groups work together. This is a strategic role, not a day to day delivery post, and focuses on championing the neighbourhood and supporting community-led decisions.
