ASB Awareness Week 2022

Updated 22.07.2022

Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) is something that we take very seriously within our neighbourhoods, and our aim is to tackle ASB to create safer communities. In support of ASB Awareness Week, we have been out and about in our neighbourhoods working with our community partners, talking to customers and residents, listening to their ideas for tackling ASB and any concerns they might have within their community.

Sam Cummins, ASB Neighbourhood Manager said “Wow what a fantastic week this has been for ASB Awareness week, being out and about in communities speaking to face to face to residents and listening to their concerns around anti-social behaviour and criminal behaviour. It is so important that we listen to the needs of customers and residents to make sure that we are effectively tackling anti-social behaviour by acting against those who cause nuisance and annoyance in our neighbourhoods.

“I am proud to say the work that our housing officers and tenancy enforcement officers is working and having a massive impact. This reinforces my belief that we are working together in partnership with Merseyside Police and Wirral Borough Council by taking swift action to deal with individuals and families who think is ok to behave in an unacceptable manner. I would like to thank partner agencies for coming together at these events and reassuring our communities that we care, and we are here to listen and help. One resident told us “It’s about time you got rid of those families on this estate, it’s the talk on Facebook well done Magenta Living.”

Dominic Tulley, Tenancy Enforcement Office, also attended an action day at Ilchester Road this week and said “Magenta Living’s enforcement team and housing officers have worked closely over the years with the dedicated police team for the area and the local councillors in tackling crime and ASB within this community. As part of ASB Awareness Week I attended the day of action on Ilchester Road with our partners Merseyside Police and local councillors Brian Kenny and Julie McManus. We door knocked along Ilchester Road and the adjoining side streets to engage with the local community and complete questionnaires with the customers and residents. Overall, ASB has dropped off significantly in this area over the last 2 years and Magenta Living will continue to work with partner agencies in providing sustainable communities for tenants to live in.”

ASB can come in many forms and often leaves people feeling alarmed and distressed, to help tackle ASB in our communities we will continue to work closely with our partners at Merseyside Police and Wirral Council to overcome instances of ASB in our neighbourhoods.
