We Extend Specialist Extra Care Service with Dedicated Accommodation

We announce the extension of our existing supported housing service with the opening of a fully refurbished block of apartments for specialist extra care scheme on Kingsland Road.
This initiative is designed to meet the growing local demand for high-quality, personalised living service for customers who have a variety of care and support needs, who have been diagnosed with learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions.
This carefully designed accommodation will provide safe, accessible homes for local people. There is a fantastic sized communal garden and patio area, giving the occupants an opportunity to enjoy this outside space, which is essential to create a sense of wellbeing and improve quality of life for our newest customers. It also has extra space for the care staff employed by Potens with furnished communal areas to allow a sense of community within the block and an on-site office.
"We're committed to creating homes that empower people to live independently, with dignity and the right support," said Amanda Wrenn, Head of Supported Housing Acquisitions at Magenta Living. "This development is a major step forward in meeting the needs of our community."
Meeting a Growing Need in Wirral
We are working with the local council and NHS who suggest there is an increase in demand for the number of people with a variety of different health needs, that wish to live independently in the community in self-contained accommodation.
Local organisations such as Wirral Mind report increasing demand for supported accommodation for individuals with mental health challenges and learning disabilities/autism, helping them live independently in the community.1 This extended service directly responds to this need, offering sustainable and person-centred homes.
A Collaborative Approach
We are working closely with Wirral Council and Cheshire and Merseyside NHS/Integrated Care Board Commissioners to ensure the new accommodation aligns with their strategic housing plans whist helping to support the local care priorities. The Kingsland Road development has eleven individual self-contained one-bedroom apartments with kitchens including white goods and separate shower rooms all designed with accessibility, safety, and comfort in mind. Residents will benefit from 24/7 support by Potens with Magenta Living being the owner, landlord and provider of all housing management services.
